First, we thank everyone who has embraced Hay Day by decorating haybales, creating a sculpture or dropping off a decorated pumpkin at City Hall! The smiles on your faces make our work behind the scenes well worth it!
The long awaited First Annual Hay Day is coming this Saturday October 15th from 10AM-6PM throughout Downtown Rochelle! Come hungry because we have Hicks BBQ, Fire Department Pork Chops, Cliffs Donuts, and Off the Wall Pies. Your children will sleep well Saturday night after they spend some time in the bounce house and inflatables obstacle course (both of which are free, by the way!). We also have face painting, cornhusk doll making, and pumpkin decorating. What would a Hay Day be without a petting zoo and giant tractor on display -- we have them both! Get up close and personal with our City vehicles with Touch-A-Truck where kids can check out the fire truck, police car, fire safety house, backhoe, street sweeper, and more!
Once you've made your way through the Hay Day, be sure to check out the straw sculptures on display at RTHS through November 1. They are really incredible works of art with no detail too small.
We can't wait to see you all there!
