Cinco de Mayo Festival
Saturday, May 6th 2017

Round up your amigos and kick off The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta starting with the Cinco-K, a 5K Run/Walk to benefit of HOPE of Ogle County. Registrations are available online at; walk-in registrations are also available through the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District. The run begins at 1pm at First Presbyterian Church along the bike path.

Join the festivities downtown, happening from 4-10pm. We’ll have delicious Mexican food and live performances throughout the evening, including Galli Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) at 5:30pm.

Cinco de Mayo can’t happen without the popular Chihuahua Race starting at 5pm. The Chihuahua best dressed contest and parade happens at 4:45pm.

Authentic Mexican food will be served by local vendors Tacos al Pastor#1, Oasis, El Sol, Off the Wall Café, El Tapatio, Nina’s Tacos and Lupita’s Supermarket. Restaurant Tecalitlan will serve traditional margaritas and cantaritos.

Enjoy performances by Ballet Nueva Imagen, the RTHS Jazz Band, Tamborazo Salinas and to close the night Eterno Show de Chicago will take the stage at 8 pm.

The event is sponsored by the City of Rochelle and LULAC Rochelle.
